Set Up for Success: Testing Reminders |
As we approach upcoming testing, we encourage families to help students be prepared for success. Ensuring your child gets a good night’s rest and arrives at school on time can make a big difference. We also ask that parents take a moment to check their student’s device for any damage and confirm that it is fully charged each day. Please make sure your student brings their charger to school as well. Replacement chargers are available for purchase in the Media Center for $15.

Dalton Public Schools Hosts Annual Young Georgia Authors Celebration
|
Dalton Public Schools held its annual Young Georgia Authors celebration on Wednesday, March 25, at Hammond Creek Middle School. Students from across the district were recognized for their outstanding writing achievements during the event, which honored winners at the school, district, and Northwest Georgia RESA (Regional Educational Service Agency) levels.
The Young Georgia Authors (YGA) writing competition encourages students from kindergarten through 12th grade to develop their writing skills and express their creativity. School-level winners were recognized first, followed by district winners, and finally the Northwest Georgia RESA winners. Students who earned RESA honors will advance to the state-level competition, which will take place next month.

Dalton Public Schools Prioritizes Fiscal Responsibility in 2026–2027 Budget Planning |
As Dalton Public Schools prepares its budget for the 2026–2027 school year, we extend our sincere appreciation to the Dalton community for the continued trust placed in us to serve as responsible stewards of public funds. While the district receives both federal and state funding, a portion of our operating budget is supported locally through property taxes from residents and businesses within the City of Dalton. We recognize the responsibility that accompanies our role as a taxing authority and remain committed to making decisions that positively impact our students, staff, and community.
