The Dalton Education Foundation is pleased to announce that applications are now open for the 2026 Tom Jones Educator of the Year Award. This prestigious award honors an exceptional Dalton Public Schools educator who demonstrates outstanding dedication, leadership, and service to students and the community.

This prestigious endowed award is named in memory of Mr. Tom Jones, a respected Dalton businessman and longtime member of the Dalton Board of Education.

Any individual may nominate a Dalton Public Schools educator who has served in the district for at least three years.

The Dalton Academy is hosting their 2026 Homecoming Parade!

Join us on Friday, February 27, 2026, as we celebrate The Academy's Homecoming with the theme “A Whole New World for Pumas.” Parade staging begins at 2:30 p.m. at Trinity Methodist Church, with step-off at approximately 4:00 p.m.

Parade Route: Mitchell St. → Ave C → Morningside Dr. → Veteran’s Ave. → Trinity Methodist Church

The celebration continues with boys’ soccer vs. Calhoun High School (JV at 5:00 p.m., Varsity at 7:00 p.m.), followed by the Homecoming Court Coronation during halftime.

Do I need to download a separate Rooms app?
No. Rooms is built directly into the district mobile app and is also accessible via a web browser. We do recommend using the mobile app for easiest access.

What is Rooms and how does it help with school communication?
Rooms provides secure, two-way messaging between families and school staff. Teachers, nurses, and other staff can send messages, announcements, and updates—while families can easily message teachers or staff when needed.

Rooms helps streamline communication by providing one central tool rather than using multiple channels like email, text, or social media. Because Rooms is part of the district app, families also get access to news, dining menus, events, and more—all in one place.

Can I use my computer instead of my phone?
Yes! Rooms is accessible on the web, on a mobile browser, or through the district mobile app.

One of my children isn’t showing up in Rooms. What should I do?
Please send us an email at info@dalton.k12.ga.us and we will assist you!

Dalton Public Schools is proud to announce the 2025–2026 Kiwanis STAR Students and STAR Teachers from its two high schools, recognizing exceptional academic achievement and the educators who inspire student success.

At The Dalton Academy, senior Diego Cuna has been named the 2025–2026 Kiwanis STAR Student. In recognition of this honor, Cuna selected Ana Ortega as his STAR Teacher, citing her meaningful influence through continued support, guidance, and dedication to student success.

Dalton High School also proudly recognizes senior Hiam Maldonado as its 2025–2026 Kiwanis STAR Student. Maldonado selected Matt Harris as his STAR Teacher, honoring his mentorship, positive impact, and commitment to academic excellence.
