Message from the Principal

Dear Westwood Families,

This week begins Milestones testing, and we are so proud of the hard work our students have shown leading up to this point. Thank you for the encouragement and support you provide at home—it truly makes a difference.

During testing week, we ask for your partnership in helping students be successful by ensuring they get a good night’s rest, arrive at school on time, and come ready to do their best each day.

Our school schedule may look a little different this week as we work through testing, and we appreciate your flexibility and understanding. Our staff is working together to ensure a smooth and positive experience for all students.

Thank you for your continued support—we are cheering our students on every step of the way!

With Gratitude,

Alesa Smith

Students took initiative to help keep our community clean by collecting and picking up trash—an incredible example of service and pride in where we live. We had several top participants, and our overall winner, Bridger Chitwood, earned the exciting opportunity to be Principal for a Day! Way to go, Bridger, and thank you to all of our students for making a positive impact by serving others and caring for our community.

A big thank you to our partners at Royal Oaks for showing their support in such a meaningful way! They created a special good luck sign for our students for our Milestones parade on Friday to cheer them on. We are so grateful for the encouragement and care our community partners continue to pour into our students—it truly makes a difference!

Our students represented Westwood well at the Bill Gregory Healthcare Classic this past Saturday. Westie was there to cheer them on and show school spirit throughout the event. Brooks Hardin (3rd grade) and Palmer Putnam (5th grade) both earned 2nd place—way to go! Congratulations to Brooks, Palmer, and all students who participated in this great community event.
