Dear Westwood Families,

We are in the full swing of December at Westwood! With dress-up days, visiting elves, and special holiday activities, our halls are filled with joy and excitement. It’s truly wonderful to see our students embracing the spirit of the season.

As we move through this busy time of year, we’re focused on finishing the calendar year strong while continuing to share the love, joy, and hope of the holidays with our students, our families, and our entire school community.

Our music teacher, Mrs. Cantrell, was recently awarded a Sertean Creative Arts Guild Grant. We are so proud of her dedication to bringing creativity and enriching opportunities to our students. This grant will support exciting new experiences in our music program!

Our K–2 students enjoyed the Aliens Alive Jonas program—an immersive theatrical performance that brings math, science, and music together in a fun and engaging way. It was an exciting and educational experience our students loved!

Our 4th- and 5th-grade students shined during this year’s Christmas Choral Concert, filling the evening with beautiful holiday music. It was a wonderful showcase of their hard work and talent!

We are so proud of our Westwood students who participated in the DPS LEGO League. A special shout-out to Carter Mitchell and Deacon Owens for earning first place! Our students continue to impress us with their creativity, teamwork, and problem-solving skills. They represented Westwood beautifully!

Thank you to our amazing PTO for providing our staff with cookies and cocoa this Friday. It was a much-appreciated treat that brought a little extra warmth and cheer to our day!
