Message from the Principal

Dear Families,

We hope you enjoyed the Presidents Day weekend and had time to rest and recharge! We are excited to welcome our Wildcats back for a strong week of learning.

As we continue into the second half of the year, our focus remains on growth, strong relationships, and high expectations for every student. Thank you for partnering with us and supporting learning at home.

Let’s continue to expect excellence, champion one another, carry the banner, and be merchants of hope for our students each day.

Grateful to serve this amazing community!

Westwood Earns Ready Georgia Seal of Preparedness

Westwood is proud to be recognized with the Georgia Ready Seal of Preparedness! This honor reflects our commitment to maintaining a safe, prepared, and proactive school environment for our students and staff.

Thank you to our team and community partners who help ensure Westwood is always ready to protect, respond, and support. Safety is a shared responsibility, and we are proud to carry the banner in keeping our Wildcats safe!

Happy SRO Appreciation Day!

We celebrate and thank Officer Johnson for the dedication, protection, and positive relationships he brings to Westwood each day. He works tirelessly to keep our students safe while building trust and serving as a true champion for our Wildcats.

We are grateful for his service and the calm, caring presence he provides to our entire school community!

Buddy-a-Thon Success!

Our Westwood Buddy-A-Thon was a huge success! The company shared that only one other school has ever raised more than Westwood — what an incredible accomplishment!

Because of our generous families and hardworking students, these funds will directly benefit our playground, creating even more opportunities for fun and connection. We are especially proud that every child had the opportunity to contribute and be part of something bigger than themselves.

Way to carry the banner, Wildcats!

Coastal Trip Adventures!

Our 4th and 5th graders are well underway on their annual coastal trip to Savannah and Tybee Island! Students are exploring Georgia’s rich history, learning about coastal ecosystems, and making unforgettable memories together.

This hands-on experience brings classroom learning to life, and we are so proud of the way our Wildcats are representing Westwood while carrying the banner beyond our campus!

Westwood Celebrates Black History Month

Our Lab Cats students created an impressive display honoring influential African Americans in celebration of Black History Month. Through research, creativity, and collaboration, students highlighted leaders who have made lasting impacts in history, science, the arts, government, and beyond.

We are proud of their thoughtful work and the meaningful learning happening at Westwood as we celebrate the contributions that have shaped our nation.
