Message from the Principal

Dear Westwood Families,

As we move into the final stretch of March, we continue to see so many signs of growth—both in the classroom and across our school community.

This past week, our staff had the opportunity to learn and reflect together, and we are excited about the ways that learning is already making a positive impact on your children. Our teachers remain committed to creating a supportive, engaging environment where every student can thrive.

Spring is a season of growth and renewal, and we see that reflected in our students each day—in their learning, their confidence, and their kindness toward one another.

Thank you for your continued support and partnership. We are proud of the work happening at our school and grateful to share this journey with you.

With Gratitude,

Alesa Smith

Champion Shout Outs & Celebrations

Congratulations to our Westwood Soccer Team for earning 2nd place at the annual DPS Elementary Soccer Tournament! Our players truly played their hearts out, showing determination, teamwork, and sportsmanship every step of the way. We are so proud of their hard work and the way they represented our school!

Our 5th grade musical was a hit! Our talented students took us on a rock ’n’ roll journey that was both moving and fun. It was a joy to watch them sing, perform, and shine on stage—we are so proud of their hard work and confidence!

We were proud to host 10 DHS students from the teacher prep program! They spent time in classrooms observing and working with students, gaining valuable hands-on experience. We love being part of preparing future educators and supporting the next generation of teachers!
